An enrolled nonresident student shall be permitted to remain enrolled in a school, subject to the same rules and standards as resident students, without renewed applications in subsequent years unless one of the following occurs

  • the student graduates
  • Canyons District determines that enrollment within the school will exceed the school's open enrollment threshold
  • the student is expelled or suspended or violates their provisional permit contract

Note: If you transfer your student to another school or your student is moving from elementary to middle or from middle to high, a new permit will need to be completed.

Note: A student with prior behavioral problems may be granted provisional enrollment provided the student and guardian sign an agreement with the school or the school district (1) establishing the conditions of continued enrollment under the provisional permit and (2) notifying the guardians/student that the student will be excluded from the school and the provisional permit will be revoked if the agreement is violated.

I understand that all transfer requests are contingent on early enrollment school capacity ("maximum capacity") or late enrollment school capacity ("adjusted capacity"), special program limitations, staff availability, and/or circumstances under Section 53A-2-207(4)(c). If this request is granted, I agree that my student must remain at the requested school through the end of the requested school year. I understand that a student's acceptance into a school or school district does not establish UHSAA (student athletic or activity) eligibility.

I understand that by typing my name below, I am performing the legal equivalent of a manual signature and am digitally accepting the terms of this permit application.
